I’ve seen some great wedding videos over the years…  And while I have a vested interest in still photography (suprise suprise) – every once in a while I see something that just blows my mind.

If you poll anyone in tune with the Wedding Cinematography industry you’re sure to hear great things about Pacific Pictures, Stillmotion , Mind Castle Studios, and Joe Simon Productions.  It seems that they are often consistently on the top in videographer rankings, at least over the past few years.  What’s kind of cool is that even though they all produce outstanding work with their own companies – Kevin (Pacific Pictures), Patrick (Stillmotion), Casey(Mind Castle), and Joe (Joe Simon Productions) recently combined forces to produce a combination live wedding/concept production in India for a couple traveling there from the states to be wed.  Although this was primarily a Pacific Pictures production – Patrick, Joe and Casey all flew over to assist Kevin.  I guess when you put all that talent together something awesome is bound to come of it.

Back in June I shot Mike & Ann’s wedding.  David Clawson from Perfect Pear Media was also at the event shooting video…  I just wanted to post up his highlights film which gives his take on the day.  It also gives you a little peek into a typical wedding day shoot as you can see me working in a bunch of the scenes

So I’ve been tracking the traffic coming to my blog for a while now. I know that there are LOT’s of people that either read the blog directly or subscribe to the RSS feed. However no one really comments on anything – well besides a few blog stalkers You know who you are!

I thought it’d be fun to have a comment contest during the month of January. Either a bunch of people will come out of the woodwork and post a comment, or it will be a big flop and no one will bother!

To make it worth your while there will be a prize involved! If you are a past/future Wedding Couple, I’ll craft up a cool prize with your wedding photos (some sort of cool art print). If you aren’t a client, but just someone who reads the blog or another photographer – I’ll have some sort of different prize for you. Trust me, I can come up with something cool.

This is a followup post from my prior post about Chris & Kim’s wedding.

I just wanted to take a quick moment to highlight something that I thought was just so insanely awesome that happened at the wedding. Chris is a songwriter, producer and super talented musician. He is also the frontman for the Chicago band Escape From Earth – which if you have not heard, drop what you are doing right now and check out their website and even check out their albums on iTunes!

Chris wrote and recorded the song to be used for his and Kim’s first dance at the wedding. The song was/is awesome and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when all of this took place.
