I’ve seen some great wedding videos over the years…  And while I have a vested interest in still photography (suprise suprise) – every once in a while I see something that just blows my mind.

If you poll anyone in tune with the Wedding Cinematography industry you’re sure to hear great things about Pacific Pictures, Stillmotion , Mind Castle Studios, and Joe Simon Productions.  It seems that they are often consistently on the top in videographer rankings, at least over the past few years.  What’s kind of cool is that even though they all produce outstanding work with their own companies – Kevin (Pacific Pictures), Patrick (Stillmotion), Casey(Mind Castle), and Joe (Joe Simon Productions) recently combined forces to produce a combination live wedding/concept production in India for a couple traveling there from the states to be wed.  Although this was primarily a Pacific Pictures production – Patrick, Joe and Casey all flew over to assist Kevin.  I guess when you put all that talent together something awesome is bound to come of it.

This is just the teaser…  It’s too good to not share! Check it out!

Back in June I shot Mike & Ann’s wedding.  David Clawson from Perfect Pear Media was also at the event shooting video…  I just wanted to post up his highlights film which gives his take on the day.  It also gives you a little peek into a typical wedding day shoot as you can see me working in a bunch of the scenes :)

Just look for the flashing camera or guy dressed all in black with the big camera :)

Great  film David!!

I will be out of the office from Saturday 4/18 through Sunday 4/26…

I will be traveling to China for a little break before the craziness of the wedding season starts to kick in again!  I will be returning any phone calls or messages early in the week when I return.  If you send an email or a wedding inquiry while I’m out I most likely will respond via email during my trip as I will have my laptop with me.  As long as I can get an internet connection I should be all set!

It should be a fun trip and I will certainly post up some photos on the blog when I get a chance!

Regards,

Andrew

I will be out of town this week in Las Vegas. I won’t be able to schedule any consultations until I return.

I will still be answering emails etc while away, but it may take longer than usual to get a response.

Thanks!

A while back I was contacted by the Aunt of a bride getting married at St. Hyacinth Basilica. As a gift to the bride and groom, Karen was going to paint a watercolor picture of the church. She was having problems finding a good enough resolution photo of the outside of the Basilica that would help her visualize it for her painting.

Karen had seen a bunch of posts on my blog – as I’ve shot at the Basilica numerous times. Even though I wasn’t the photographer for her niece’s wedding – I sent her a bunch of high resolution images for her to use in her painting.

I received an email with a scan of the finished painting and it’s just awesome!

:) Shooting as in taking photographs that is!

If you’ve been watching Entertainment news over the past week, you know that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were married in Paris on 7/7/07.

What’s really cool is that the official photographer for the wedding is someone I know! Bob Davis of la Storia foto was contracted by Eva and Tony to photograph the wedding! Bob actually was my “photo coach” a few years ago when I did some photography work for his other company… Bob has had a long career in photojournalism, working as an award winning photographer at the Chicago Sun-Times before moving to wedding photojournalism. He’s also done work for Oprah!

I just think this is so cool! Congratulations Bob & Dawn on the awesome shoot, and best of luck in the future!

I finally got around to updating the look and feel of the Blog! Hopefully you’ll like it. I like it because I will have a little more room in the middle of the page to display larger images. Stay tuned for new posts to see the new layout!

Planning for your wedding photography is always something that you should think about sooner rather than later. Recently I’ve had a bunch of brides contact me about dates that are only 3-5 months out from now. Unfortunately I’m pretty much booked up for 2007. I still have some dates open for later in the year, but popular dates have long been booked. I do have a real time availability checker on my main website that you can use to check availability for your date – or you can click here -> Availability Checker

Whether or not you are thinking about booking my services or another photographer, it’s much better to start looking sooner if you want to book who you really want!
