Archive for the Thoughts CategoryI apologize if anyone has been getting automatic email replies when sending me emails. Somehow an autoresponder got turned on and has been sending replies to everyone! It’s fixed now. Andrew I just realized that it’s already October! I’ve had an awesome time this year with a bunch of awesome couples. Normally after October my life starts slowing down and things get a little calmer for the winter months… However I have some awesome shoots still coming up this year that I can’t wait for! I’ve also got a bunch of cool stuff in the works and projects to finish up to gear up for 2008! Happy October! Mike & Amy were married on 7/14/2007 in DeKalb Illinois. The wedding was held at St. Mary’s Church with their reception at South Pointe Centre. You might remember Mike & Amy’s Engagement photos a few months back. We had an awesome time and I avoided getting run over by the bridal party’s speeding golf carts! (Watch the slideshow) Congratulations guys! -Andrew
If you’ve been watching Entertainment news over the past week, you know that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were married in Paris on 7/7/07. What’s really cool is that the official photographer for the wedding is someone I know! Bob Davis of la Storia foto was contracted by Eva and Tony to photograph the wedding! Bob actually was my “photo coach” a few years ago when I did some photography work for his other company… Bob has had a long career in photojournalism, working as an award winning photographer at the Chicago Sun-Times before moving to wedding photojournalism. He’s also done work for Oprah! I just think this is so cool! Congratulations Bob & Dawn on the awesome shoot, and best of luck in the future! -Andrew
I finally got around to updating the look and feel of the Blog! Hopefully you’ll like it. I like it because I will have a little more room in the middle of the page to display larger images. Stay tuned for new posts to see the new layout! -Andrew I just wanted to wish everyone out there a happy Easter holiday! -Andrew

Planning your wedding photography…Posted by: Andrew in Weddings, Miscellaneous, ThoughtsPlanning for your wedding photography is always something that you should think about sooner rather than later. Recently I’ve had a bunch of brides contact me about dates that are only 3-5 months out from now. Unfortunately I’m pretty much booked up for 2007. I still have some dates open for later in the year, but popular dates have long been booked. I do have a real time availability checker on my main website that you can use to check availability for your date - or you can click here -> Availability Checker Whether or not you are thinking about booking my services or another photographer, it’s much better to start looking sooner if you want to book who you really want! -Andrew A question that always seems to come up when I’m meeting or talking with couples is “Why do you like shooting weddings?” It’s not that I like shooting them, I love shooting them! I know that sounds a little on the corny side If you think about it, your photographer out of all the vendors at your wedding, will be someone that you most often will talk with and work with well before and well after the wedding is over. It’s very important to establish a good working relationship. For me that’s part of the fun of shooting weddings… Getting to know and work with a bunch of awesome people and couples that more often than not end up feeling more like “friends” rather than just clients that have hired me to provide them with photographs. That’s why I love shooting weddings! -Andrew So I was watching Oprah the other day… Well, my wife was watching (and forced me to also watch) the show. Oprah was interviewing a panel of folks including the author of the new book / movie called ‘The Secret’. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s almost like a documentary type of thing that you’d see on the Discovery or Science channel. It also has a kind of Da Vinci codesque feel to the whole thing which pulls you in and makes you at least interested in what they are saying. The gist of ‘The Secret’ is an explanation of the Laws of Attraction and how they may play an important role in what type of life experience that you live. Instead of me actually trying to explain it, you can watch the whole Oprah show on YouTube, or head on over to TheSecret.tv for more information. -Andrew |
