Congratulations Luke & Carrie!

Luke & Carrie are just a wonderful couple. From the moment I met them at my office last year, to their engagement session, to the wedding – I’ve always felt like we were old friends. Their group of friends (aka the bridal party) were also awesome on the wedding day! The day started off with prep at the Doubletree at Esplanade Lakes, followed by the ceremony at St. Johns Lutheran Church. We made a quick photo stop at Cantigny after the ceremony (and just barely avoided a downpour) and made it back to Esplanade Lakes before the real rain started coming down. The party was rocking all night long thanks to Al Okyne’s DJ talents!

Congratulations Luke & Carrie – can’t wait to work with you on the album!

Mike & Amy were married a few short weeks ago and I was able to document another beautiful downtown wedding. I just love shooting in Chicago during the summertime. There is always so much going on and lots of great places to make awesome photographs! The day started off at the W Lakeshore hotel for all of the bridal party prep. The ceremony was held at St. James Chapel at the Quigley Preparatory Seminary, followed by a gorgeous reception at the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier.

Vinit & Divya E-Session

Vinit & Divya are getting married next month in Pittsburgh. I’m unfortunately not shooting the wedding, however they contacted me to shoot some Engagement photos in Chicago. We had a lot of fun with this shoot. I love the colors and textures of the clothes that were worn during the first half of the session with traditional Indian dress. We started off in the Lincoln Park area and then headed down to the Crimson Lounge at hotel Sax Chicago where Vinit and Divya spent time when they first started dating. Then we ran around the river area a bit getting some bridge shots as well as some in front of The Chicago Theater. We didn’t get to do much along Michigan Ave because it was all closed down for the Transformers 3 filming!

Congratulations Robert & Melissa!

Robert and Melissa were married just over a month ago. I was honored to be asked to shoot their very gorgeous Chicago wedding which started out with some prep shots at the Crowne Plaza Metro Chicago hotel. The ceremony was held at Saint Pauls United Church of Christ followed by a very swanky reception at The Grandview Loft at Westgrand Studios.

We did get the opportunity to make a quick stop downtown to shoot some fun photos around Michigan Ave and the Chicago River. We also had some fun shooting outside Westgrand Studios while waiting for introductions to start.

Congratulations Robert & Elizabeth!

Every once in a while during the start of a wedding day I get a feeling that the day will truly be special. I know that might sound a little corny, a little psychic or a little weird – however I always seem to be right! From the moment I walked into Elizabeth’s house on the day of the wedding I knew that the day would be perfect – and after reviewing all the photos afterwards… well you get the picture. The ceremony took place at St. James Church, followed by a reception at the Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights. In between we stopped at a park to grab some Relaxed Portraits of the bridal party and Robert & Elizabeth. The Stanley Cup even made a guest appearance at the reception! (well a replica of it did – all the guys are huge hockey fans)

While the weather was a bit humid and the morning rain passed through quickly, Brian & Sara had a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald’s Campus. With a gorgeous afternoon outdoor ceremony followed by an elegant reception at the Grand Oaks Pavilion, the wedding day was perfect. Thanks so much for inviting me to share in your wonderful day!

Mike & Roula were married a few short weeks ago and had a truly wonderful wedding event. We were very lucky to just miss the rain a few times during the day and everything worked out perfectly. The ceremony was held at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church followed by a gorgeous reception at the Palmer House Hilton. I think the working title of the day was “Big Fat Greek Wedding 2″! Mike & Roula even handed out photo shopped DVD cases of the movie with photographs on the cover

Claudia with As You Wish did a phenomenal job of coordinating and planning the day and everything turned out wonderfully.

Kevin & Anna are getting married later this year and we recently took some time to head out and shoot some Engagement photos. As with most Engagement Sessions in the city, we hopped in a few cabs and hit various locations. We started out by Wrigley Field, then headed over to the Lily Pool at Lincoln Park Zoo. After that we ran downtown for a quick wardrobe change and grabbed some shots on the LaSalle Street Bridge and ended up around The Chicago Theater. I had an awesome time and I can’t wait for the wedding!

Only in Chicago…

Only in Chicago can the bridal party rock out to street drummers on one corner and be serenaded with song and dance on the next! You never know what you’ll run into when cruising around the city after the ceremony. Luckily my 5D Mark II also can grab some quick video!
