Brad & Courtney E-Session

Brad & Courtney are getting married next year.  We took some time back in October to head out to the Chicago Botanic Gardens to shoot a fun and relaxed Engagement Session.  We lucked out on the weather and the light was just perfect.  I can’t wait until the wedding!

Congratulations Kevin & Emily!

Kevin & Emily were married at the beginning of August and had planned an outdoor ceremony and reception at the Hinsdale Golf Club.  However the weather didn’t quite work out and a storm blew through right prior to the ceremony.  The HGC club staff did a great job of transitioning to an indoor ceremony which turned out beautiful.  We were lucky that after the ceremony the weather cleared up and we were able to head outside to grab some really great photos on the course.  Overall the wedding turned out great and the reception rocked all night long!

Here are a few words from Emily on their relationship and wedding planning.

Kevin & I met in the Fall of 2005 at Michigan State University through mutual friends. We got to know each other by spending time with our friends at the best places East Lansing has to offer – the Landshark and Lou & Harry’s! By the Spring of 2006 we were “official” and have been dating ever since.

On August 18, 2011 Kevin proposed – we decided to go for a walk on the lakefront on our way to our favorite neighborhood spot for dinner, Mike Ditka’s Restaurant. Kevin unexpectedly dropped to one knee, pulled out a sparkly ring & asked me to marry him!

We decided we would need a year or so to plan the wedding… Kevin’s only request was that our date “not interfere with football season” – for anyone who knows Kevin, this was a serious request. So August 4th seemed like a good choice. We are so happy to spend our day surrounded by our closest friends & family to celebrate!

It was a pleasure to have been asked to document Kevin & Emily’s special day.

Matthew & Elizabeth E-Session

Matt & Liz are getting married this November.  We finally were able to get out to shoot an Engagement Session and the weather was great.  It was a little breezy along the lake, but we had a ton of fun walking around the outskirts of the Lincoln Park Zoo and along the lake.  It seems that these two spots are popular with many of my couples – for good reason I suppose…  The locations generally end up providing lots of great photo opportunities!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session along with a slideshow.

I can’t wait until the wedding!

Congratulations Ryan & Diana!

Ryan & Diana were married back in the end of June.  Their ceremony was held at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Chicago, followed by a reception at Inverness Golf Club.  We had great weather and were able to spend some time on the Inverness course to take plenty of great Relaxed Portraits prior to heading on over to the cocktail hour and reception.   This was one of my favorite weddings this summer and I just loved working with Ryan & Diana!  They are naturals in front of the camera which makes my job all that much easier!

Here are a few words from Diana regarding how she and Ryan met as well as their planning process for the wedding.

Ryan and I met during the summer in Chicago at a friend’s barbeque. After a few dates and a long summer, it was time to return to our last semester of college. After many train rides between Kalamazoo and Chicago, Ryan soon moved back to the city after graduation. Four years passed by and Ryan had planned the perfect proposal during Memorial Day Weekend, which was the same weekend we first met. During the Navy Pier fireworks, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. It was the perfect evening! Over the past year, we have had a wonderful time planning our wedding together with our families. We are looking forward to celebrating with our family and friends. We are getting married at St. Vincent DePaul, which is in the neighborhood we met, and our reception is at Inverness Golf Club.

Congratulations Peter & Annie!

I am a bit behind on blogging this season!  I’m going to try to get more up to date in the next coming weeks 🙂

Peter and Annie were married a few months back and had a really wonderful wedding.  The ceremony was held at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel followed by a reception at Via Bella Banquets.  In between we stopped for some Relaxed Portraits at a local forest preserve near the banquet hall.

Here are a few words about the wedding and history from Annie.

Our sisters (Bethann & Joy)had been friends for years. In March, 2004 his sister Joy brought him to our St. Patricks day party at my brother Dennis’s. I remember playing drinking games with him (Flip cup) and talking, but I didn’t think anything of it. He on the other hand left the party with his sister and he told her “Joy, I’m gonna marry that girl” of course she was laughing histarically because Pete was so drunk but she called my sister and told her and of course I found out and started laughing as well because we had only hung out for a few hours. We then didn’t meet up again until October of that year when my sister Bethann was getting married and we soon started dating on December 31, 2004.

His proposal started with a surprise trip to St.Thomas (anniversary gift), the trip was planned for March 13-20th. I of course had no idea that he already asked my father for my hand in marriage. So we arrive in St. Thomas and we have just gotten settled into our hotel room and I wanted to see the ocean view from our balcony, so I immediately went on the balcony and he followed. He said I’m gonna get this over with, I’ve been carrying this thing all day and afraid I was going to lose it. So he pulled out his wallet and he took out his credit card which was all tapped up. I was like what the hell happened to your credit card, do we need to call someone to get it fixed and he said will you be quiet. So I watched him take the tape off of his credit card and then taped to the back of it was a ring. He got down on one knee and he asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes and then I said I want to go home because I wanted to share the great news with my family.

Wedding planning has gone quite smoothly, I pretty much had all of the big things done last summer as I was finishing up nursing school (Just graduated May 16!) and I knew I would not have a lot of time.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day along with a slideshow!
