Congratulations Bob & Melissa!

Bob & Melissa were married back in September 2011.  Their wedding and reception was held at the Hyatt Lisle with some great Relaxed Portraits taken at the Morton Arboretum.  The wedding was fantastic and we ended up with some great weather even though it looked like it was going to pour for most of the day.

Here is a little bit of information that Melissa sent regarding how she and Bob met and got engaged.

We met while in school in Champaign. While we were both Molecular and Cellular Biology students, we did not actually meet until we lived on the same floor of our apartment building. (The lovely Healey Gardens)

Our first date was at Texas Roadhouse in Champaign. Bob got salmon and not steak, which Missy found very odd, and Missy got in a car accident in the parking lot on the way home. But somehow the relationship flourished despite the rocky beginnings!!

Six great years later here we are having traveled the world together and experienced so many great things. We can’t wait to get married and we can’t wait to share the moment with all of the special people in our lives!

Proposal:
:)Bob proposed at the Shedd Aquarium.

I was working on my take-home final on Saturday morning and Bob was trying his hardest to convince me that we needed to go into the city to do something fun. We had decided to go to the aqaurium because it is my favorite. When we arrived, the line to get into the aquarium was all the way down the stairs and across the plaza. Bob wanted to take a walk around rather then waiting in line. When we walked over into the grass, Bob gave me a hug and then got down on one knee. We were both so nervous that we don’t remember what he said, but it was perfect.

Adam & Ali E-Session

Adam & Ali are getting married in October this year.  We spent a few hours doing an Engagement Session back a few months ago.  It was a really fun session.  I loved the fact that Adam had the idea of using Ali’s bike as part of the shoot and it made a really fun prop to work with!  We also had some really great fall color to work with and it turned out great in the photos.

Check out a few of my favorite photos below.  I can’t wait to work with these two for the wedding!

2011 Highlights and New Years Wishes

Over 50,000+ images delivered to clients, many late nights working on image editing, albums, slideshows – not to mention the countless hours out actually shooting weddings, engagements and portrait sessions…  2011 was definitely a busy year for me.

Now that the year is winding down I thought I’d take a quick moment to thank ALL of the wonderful people that I was honored to have worked with this year.  I threw together a quick 2011 highlights slideshow with a few of my favorite photos.  This is just a tiny sliver of the sessions and images that I shot this year.  If I included everything that I love this show would be hours long!  Please don’t feel bad if I shot your event this year and you didn’t make it into this show!!!  I had to keep taking images out to keep it short and it’s still pretty long:)

I’m very much looking forward to 2012 and all that the New Year has in store.

Wishing you and your families a wonderful start to 2012.

P.S.  I’m still booking for 2012 so if you just got engaged or you know someone that has, I’d love to talk!

Excellent!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Ryan & Gina E-Session

Ryan & Gina contacted me a couple weeks before their wedding to see if I was able to shoot an Engagement Session three days before the wedding.  They were coming into town from out of state for their wedding celebration and wanted to get  some shots to include in their wedding day slideshow.  I’m always up for a challenge – so we shot the session on a Wednesday.  I turned around the edit and got them photos for them to integrate into their slideshow on Thursday evening and then I shot the wedding on Saturday.  It was pretty hectic – but in the end turned out great!

We spent some time shooting at Phillips Park Zoo in Aurora.  If you haven’t been there before, there are a lot of cool spots all within a short walking distance.  Definitely check it out!  Here are some of my favorite images from the sesssion!
