Congratulations Will & Jen!

Will & Jen were married earlier this summer in July.  Their ceremony was held at St. Isaac Jogues Church followed by a reception at Esplanade Lakes Ballroom.  We also stopped off at Morton Arboretum for some beautiful relaxed portraits in between the two events.

Here are a few words from Jen on how they met!

We actually went to high school together, but did not start dating until college. We both attended Indiana University in Bloomington. Will proposed in December of 2015. Jen’s family has a long standing tradition of building and decorating gingerbread houses together as a family each holiday season. Jen’s extended family comes over and everyone creates their own gingerbread masterpiece. Will had told Jen that he was just planning to build a normal gingerbread house, just a little bigger. Since Jen was so focused on building her own gingerbread house, she did not notice when Will snuck away to add a steeple to the top of his gingerbread house. Will then asked Jen to come in front of the Christmas tree to take a picture with his finished “house”. At that moment, Jen’s uncle carried out Will’s gingerbread church at which point Will got down on one knee in front of everyone and proposed.

Michael & Janie E-Session

Michael and Janie’s Engagement Session was a bit of a whirlwind as I recall.  We started off shooting around the Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue and made a whirlwind of stops over the course of a few hours.  I think we got some amazing photos – but it doesn’t hurt to have a wonderful and fun couple to work with!

You may notice that a few of these shots along the river are very popular with some of my brides this year!

Congratulations Rocky & Luz!

Rocky and Luz were married back in May this year.  Their ceremony was held at St. Therese Chinese Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center.

Here are a few words from Luz on how they met!

Our story began on April 2013 at Thomas Kelly High school the place we both work at. After a couple of encounters during school functions we decided to get to know each other. Throughout the rest of the remaining school year, we would go out for lunch, sit and chat in our offices, and became good friends. As summer vacation approached, Rocky took the courage to ask me on a date! After multiple dinners, outings, and beers that summer, we knew it was only a matter of time. We soon referred to each other as our significant other, registered for a 5K run, and made it official on November 15, 2013!

After our engagement, Rocky’s family made sure we were on board with timelines that had to get done. Rocky and I planned our entire wedding with their help!

Joe & Laura E-Session

Joe & Laura’s Engagement Session was amazing.  We did this shoot at the beginning of May earlier this year, just in time for some of the wonderful tulips to be in bloom on the Magnificent Mile.  Do take a moment to check out those gorgeous photos!

Congratulations JC & Maria!

JC and Maria were married earlier in 2017.  Their ceremony was held at St. James Chapel in Chicago followed by a reception at the Medinah Country Club.  I always love shooting in both of these locations, as they are both so very unique and a wonderful setting for memorable weddings.
