Spencer & Taylor held their wedding this past January. I’d already spent some time with the couple shooting their Engagement Session last year, and I knew that the wedding was bound to be just as much fun!
The ceremony was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with a reception at Cantigny.
A few words from Taylor…
Spencer and I met during our Freshman year of high school, I didn’t know it then
but he said he had always known that I was ‘The One’. Those four years of high
school we laughed together, cried together, and most importantly grew together
in love, our two separate families became one and I couldn’t imagine my life
without him. As our Senior year came to an end, the decision about where we were
going to college weighed heavily on us. We debated if we should go to the same
university or try a hand at spending time apart. After much consideration, we
found that fate was going to keep us together: Spencer received a scholarship to
play football at the University of New Mexico and I was awarded an academic
scholarship there as well. As the seasons passed,
year after year, we continued to grow in love.
November 2nd we were planning to spend the weekend in Chicago to celebrate my birthday a
little early, but mostly to just have a weekend away together before he left for the Navy.
With zero expectations for the whole weekend, I suddenly found myself at the top
of the Ferris wheel at Navy Pier being asked to spend the rest of my life with
my best friend. Without hesitation I told Spencer ‘Yes!’.
We were able to spend the next couple weeks together as an engaged couple,
feeling all of the love in the world from our friends and family. That time flew
by, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
I cannot wait to spend my life with my best friend!
As always, here are a few of my favorite photos and a slideshow.
