Congratulations Jason & Lauren!

Jason & Lauren were married back in December.  We lucked out in that the weather was bearable for a Chicago December wedding!

The ceremony was held at St. Alphonsus followed by an elegant reception at the Palmer House.

A few words from Lauren…

We both stood up in the same wedding (my cousin Jacquleyn’s wedding). I was a bridesmaid, Jason was a groomsmen. Jason noticed me on the wedding website and asked the groom to introduce us. We met and the rest is history!

He proposed at our apartment. Our dog Winnie came into the room with a sign around her neck, it read “Mom will you marry dad?” After, we went to dinner where we had our first date.

We had our engagement party at my parents home. The house was decorated for Christmas. It really got us excited that our wedding would take place during such a beautiful time of the year!

My mother and I did all the wedding planning. It’s something the two of us really enjoy doing!

Congratulations Thomas & Teresa!

Thomas & Teresa’s held their ceremony and reception at the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue.  Prior to the gorgeous ceremony we took some time making a few stops in the city to get some great Relaxed Portraits.  I had a wonderful time working with Thomas and Teresa and have done a few weddings over the past years in their family circle!

I asked Teresa to provide a little bit about how they met…

Tom and I met on a train in New York City. Tom was living in Chicago at the time, just visiting friends and I was living in New York. The train was headed for the Hamptons. We ran into each other later that evening at a bar. Tom ended up moving to NY for grad school. He ended up moving less than a block from me. We ran into each other again and started dating shortly after. We spent the following summer in the Hamptons, a very special place to us.

…and I guess the rest is history!

Great Custom USB Drives

For all my photographer friends out there looking for great USB drives for delivery of digital files, you definitely should take a look at USB Memory Direct.  I just received an order of drives as a test and they are really great!

There are a bunch of different styles available, and their prices are pretty competitive.

Anyway, just wanted to pass on the information as someone else out there might be looking for a supplier for these as well!

Congratulations Krystian & Allison!

Krystian & Allison were married a few months back.  Their ceremony was held at St. Thomas of Villanova followed by a reception at the Schaumburg Golf Club.  There was a hiccup on the wedding day as a storm had come through a day before and knocked out power to the reception hall.  However, the Schaumburg Golf Club did a great job in powering the whole event with generator power and the wedding went on without a hitch!

Congratulations Matthew & Christiana!

Matthew & Christiana were married in July.  Their ceremony was held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and the reception was held at the Palmer House.  We spent some time taking photos around Millenium Park prior to heading into the reception location.  What a wonderful wedding day and a gorgeous couple!

A little information about how the bride and groom met.

In September of 2011 Matt was a senior emergency medicine resident at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. One day an anesthesia intern named Christiana showed up for her first shift of her required emergency rotation. Both were wearing scrubs and neither looking their best. Showers may or may not have been omitted that morning.

Despite that, Matt asked her out for drinks about halfway into their first shift together (it was all very Grey’s Anatomy), they went out later that week and started dating quickly after that.

After about 2 years Matt figured he’d better lock this down… In the words of a close family friend of the Roussis family “what the hell are you waiting for?”

So he made her a photobook about their relationship that culminated in a proposal. She said, “oh my gosh! I can’t believe you did all this!” and then after some further prompting said “yes!”

They celebrated with family and friends at the Drake Hotel.
