Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

As the year closes out I just wanted to take a quick moment to thank all of my clients from 2013 for trusting me to document their wedding day.  To my clients for 2014, I am looking forward to working with you all next year!

Happy Holidays!

Congratulations Kevin & Kristin!

Kevin & Kristin were married in August and had a very unique Lake Michigan reception.  While I’ve shot receptions and dinner cruises over the years, there were some amazing clouds over the skyline which made for some great shots!  We started the day with a ceremony at St. Michael’s Church in Old Town.  After the reception cruise on the Mystic Blue – Kevin and Kristin decided to play a round of mini golf with their bridal party at Navy Pier!  They played mini golf on their first date so it was a meaningful end to a wonderful wedding day.

A few words from the couple.

We were introduced by mutual friends (Kristin’s friend from grade school married Kevin’s best friend from grade school). We dated for 2 years in Chicago until Kristin moved to Minneapolis to pursue a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Kevin visited often, and proposed in October while visiting in Minneapolis.

We want to give our family and friends a great weekend in Chicago as most of our guests will be visiting from out of town. We’re excited about our reception on the Mystic Blue Cruise as it will be a fun way to celebrate in our favorite city!   Following the reception, Kevin and I will play a round of mini golf at Navy Pier with anyone that wants to join us to remember our first date — mini golf in Millenium Park!

Congratulations Brad & Courtney!

Brad & Courtney were married earlier this year and had one of the most beautiful events of 2013 in my opinion!   The ceremony and reception were held at the Adler Planetarium.  This is the second wedding that I have shot for Brad’s family.  A few years ago I shot Mike & Roula’s wedding – so there were a lot of familiar faces!

The event was coordinated and planned by the amazing Zak Yasin, a true wedding artist!

Congratulations Charlie & Frances!

Charlie & Frances were married back July.  Their ceremony and reception were held at the Chicago Botanic Gardens.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the reception was amazing.  The ceremony took place in the English Walled Garden, where we also did the First Look.  After the First Look we walked around the gardens and took some Relaxed Portraits.  Take a look at a few of my favorite photos and slideshow below.

Great wedding highlights

Congratulations Dan & Jennifer!

Dan & Jennifer were married back in June and held both their Ceremony and Reception at the Hinsdale Golf Club.  Unfortunately we got rained out for the ceremony outdoors but everything cleared up and we were able to grab some shots after the rain passed over.

A few words from Jennifer on how they met as well as some details on their wedding planning…

Dan and I met through friends and were both so tired of dating that we almost canceled our first date. For my 30th birthday, he planned a picnic down at Promontory Point and then two years later he asked me to go on another bike ride where he proposed at the same site.

My maternal grandmother and grandfather were a significant part of my childhood and Dan was able to meet my grandfather before he died this past December. We’ve tried to do a few things to bring my grandma into the ceremony (like my mom using her purse and me using the purse my grandma bought for my mom) and will be incorporating pictures of my grandparents somewhere as I know that they would have wanted to be there with us.

One of my best friends from law school will be singing the father daughter dance. She has a contract with a producer and is doing solo work as well as work as a member of the Grievous Angels.
