David & Chrissy were married at the beginning of September.  This was definitely one of the most unique weddings that I’ve shot this year.  The families were a mix of Egyptian and Scottish – so you can imagine the diverse and wonderfully unique wedding that would arise out of that combination.  From the groomsmen’s kilts to the belly dancer that led the introductions at the reception the whole experience was nothing short of amazing!  Couple that with two phenomenal Chicago locations with Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Palmer House and you are bound to get some amazing pictures.  Working with such an awesome couple also definitely helps!  Thanks again David & Chrissy for inviting me to witness and document your beautiful and special day…

David & Candace held a beautiful ceremony/reception last month at The Herrington Inn in Geneva. If you’ve never been there, you are certainly missing out. The boutique hotel is a perfect location for a ceremony or reception.  I will say one of the highlights of the night was the bridal party introductions to Star Wars, accompanied by light sabers!  Definitely a very fun wedding!

Konstantine and Eleni were married a few short weeks ago.  The wedding day turned out to be absolutely perfect weather wise – which is always questionable once September rolls around in Chicago.  Konstantine and Eleni held their ceremony at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, followed by an intimate reception at The Armour House at Lake Forest Academy.  There was plenty of time to capture some really great Relaxed Portraits on the grounds of the Academy.  I really love shooting energetic receptions and this was no exception – plenty of traditional Greek dancing and dollar bills flying through the air!

Andy & Erin held an intimate outdoor ceremony followed by a great reception at Riverside Receptions in Geneva.  We lucked out on the weather, and it wasn’t too hot – which is always a flip of the coin during a Chicago summer.  Prior to the ceremony we did a first look at the hotel and also took a bunch of relaxed portraits at Cantigny.  I love all of the neat photo nooks and views at this photo spot!  I know it breaks the normal “tradition” of the bride and groom not seeing each other prior to the ceremony, however more and more couples nowadays are opting to take photos before the ceremony.  It definitely frees up time on tight schedules and also gets you a lot more photos that aren’t on a time crunch

Mike & Kathryn’s wedding was a few weeks back and was a truly phenomenal event!  I’ve had a wonderful time working with them, starting back last year when we shot their engagement session downtown.  I’ll have to get a copy of the “Save the Date” cards that they had made from one of the engagement session photos – as it turned out really nice.  The ceremony was held at Old St. Patricks followed by a wonderful reception at the Mid America Club.
